The mission of La Plata County Humane Society (LPCHS) is to enhance and protect the lives of companion animals by ensuring the provision of sustenance, safety and shelter; educating the community regarding humane treatment of animals; and preventing pet overpopulation.

Anyone can attend an LPCHS board meeting to learn more about what we are working on. Meetings take place monthly, on the last Wednesday of each month (altered as needed for holidays) in the LPCHS board room and they start promptly at 5:00 pm.
