The La Plata County Humane Society (LPCHS) receives less than 25% of its operating expenses from the city and county. The remaining funds are raised through the LPCHS Thrift Store, donations and its annual fundraiser; Bark & Wine. This year’s event features a 90-minute presentation by expert rock climber and inspirational speaker Lynn Hill.

We will be using the funds raised at this year’s event to remodel our Dog Isolation area. This area, used to house sick and recovering animals, is not ideal for a quick recovery. An upgrade needs to be made to our ventilation system and the room needs to be remodeled to provide the animals with a better environment in which to get back on their feet.
